Description

TuiNa is a massage modality for treating people of all ages.  This class teaches some fundamental TuiNa techniques and how to integrate them with other body work therapies or as a stand alone treatment.  Attendees will learn basic protocols that can be integrated into most massage sessions including a Back, Lower Limb, Neck, and Upper Limb Protocols.  Basic Hand Techniques including Pressing, Pushing, Rolling, Light Plucking, and Grasping to name some that will be taught.  It is based on East Asian medical theory.  A unique quality of TuiNa: the client remains in relaxed comfortable clothing while on a massage table or seated in a chair.  TuiNa as an Asian medical massage offers unique techniques to increase ROM, treat musculoskeletal disorders, acute and chronic traumatic injuries, and stress.  It has been shown to be especially effective for orthopedic conditions and restoring structural integartion in the body. TuiNa has been integrated with Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2000 years.  Participants in the class will create a fluid foundation for further study into further Asian techniques of massage.
